Women who have been active members of a Kappa Phi chapter and take the Degree of the Rose have many opportunities to continue their involvement in the organization. Alumnae are active as Kora and National officers, as active chapter sponsors, on committees, and in many other supportive roles.
The goal of the alumnae organization is :”Every Kappa Phi alumnae active in the church and community of today.” Their motto is “Not to be ministered unto but to minister.”
Alumnae membership takes three forms
Life Member – For a one time fee, a woman may join Kappa Phi as a Life Member. This entitles her to receive the Candle Beam, Kappa Phi’s publication, and all other informational mailings for the rest of her life. It also gives her the opportunity to be seated as a Life Member delegate at Kora or National Conferences.
Member-at-Large – For a yearly fee, a woman may join Kappa Phi as a Member-at-Large (MAL). This entitles her to receive the Candle Beam, Kappa Phi’s publication, and all other informational mailings for the year in which MAL dues are paid. It also gives her the opportunity to be seated as a Member-at-Large delegate at Kora or National Conferences.
Alumnae Chapter member – Dues for this vary from chapter to chapter, but a portion of the dues go to the national organization, and a portion helps support the local alumnae chapter. Alumnae Chapters meet for activities, service, and programming.
For current dues information, contact the National Treasurer at treasurer@kappaphi.org.
Kappa Phi Alumnae Chapters are located across the country, and each chapter consists of women of all ages who have taken the Degree of the Rose from a Kappa Phi chapter. Alumnae chapters are less structured than active chapters, but the programming areas and the theme are the same for all Kappa Phi sisters.
If you are a former Kappa Phi who would like to become active as an alumnae member, please contact the National Alumnae Secretary at alumnaesecretary@kappaphi.org.
